Akutsu Shintaro x Kamitsuru Toru x Omi Youichiro
--- First impressions of each other. First let’s start with your first impressions of Kamitsuru.
Omi: When I met him for the first time, his outfit was cool so I thought that we might not get along (laugh). But when we were in “Nintama” together we were able to talk with each other, even though we’re the same age I started to feel like he was a really reliable person.
Akutsu: When I met him the first time, he seemed to be the only calm one with an attitude like “Oh, these are the new members?”, so I thought he’s a person in a high position. In reality, when we started to actually work together, I realized that he was a person who took responsibility and decided things.
--- So, how was the first impression of Omi?
Kamitsuru: I remember that I thought that he was a really refreshing guy. Although we’re the same age, we had a totally different atmosphere (laugh). He properly has his own world view but he’s a beginner at acting and had to start from zero, so I remembered when I was at that point too and it was nostalgic. Maybe because he asked “What’s acting?” and made a face as if he didn’t want to come to the training room (laugh). I wondered if I had been like that at the beginning as well, so I got really nostalgic.
Omi: To be honest, I didn’t want to go (laugh). I gradually learned to understand the fun of it, but the beginning was painful…
--- How was the first impression of Akutsu?
Kamitsuru: I heard about Akutsu from the “Grand Prix” and wondered what kind of a guy he’d be, so while I thought that he’d be shining, he’s actually quite dark (laugh). And he also uses words like “Wacha wacha” or “rise” which I don’t really understand (laugh). But I got to understand through working on LIVE and such that Akutsu’s character is an important weapon. But Akutsu changed a little, since he did “Nintama”.
Akutsu: Yes. I think I was able to communicate a little better.
Kamitsuru: You usually avoid it, right? (laugh)
Akutsu: In general, it’s easy to sit on the floor grasping one's knees in the corner (laugh). But I was told that that was no good by a sempai. So I became able to begin talking by myself.
--- Omi and Akutsu first met at the audition, right?
Omi: That’s right. He remained among the last 10 and at the rehearsal I gradually thought “Oh, this guy seems like he could make it” but he was a person you didn’t expect to enter a grand prix (laugh)
--- And the person himself?
Akutsu: I was surprised. Because I don’t have anything shining (laugh).
Omi: But by working together as D2, he’s really interesting. His way of thinking might be a little different from other people. I think that might fascinate people.
--- What do you think about Omi, Akutsu?
Akutsu: An audition means that everyone there is a rival, right? But he didn’t have the feeling of a rival. Somehow he was really smiling all the time. At the time with the last 10 people, he said “Let’s make a circle together!” before the audition. Although I thought that it would be okay if everyone else failed and that it would be better if everyone else wasn’t there (laugh). Omi-kun was completely different and I thought that he was a great person.
--- You are three people who have completely different characteristics, right?
Omi: We’re quite individual, right? I think it’s good if we’ll learn more about each other’s character from now on!
Yamaguchi Kenki x Mitsuya Ryo x Negishi Takuya x Ikeoka Ryosuke
--- Please talk about each one’s character. First, Ikeoka is what kind of a person…?
Yamaguchi: Ikeoka… Ponkichi is like a little brother. His face and character is cute, and he’s a boy who’s surprisingly good at joining the good mood and can read the atmosphere.
Negishi: He has the image to handle the lessons perfectly.
Yamaguchi: Muscle training, too (laugh). He makes a cool face when he does muscle training (laugh). Pole dancing was also really painful, but Ikeoka endured it all.
Ikeoka: My innermost thoughts were really bad (laugh). But it doesn’t show on my face. Maybe because I don’t like to lose.
Mitsuya: You’re not complaining, right?
--- What about Negishi?
Mitsuya: The first time I met Negishi, I thought that he’d be a small kid because of the impression I got from his photo but he was surprisingly tall. So it was the impression “tall!” (laugh).
Yamaguchi: He’s already 178cm now, right? It means he grew 10cm.
Negishi: It’s said that you grow until you’re 24 years old.
Mitsuya: I’m going to be 24 years old this year.
Ikeoka: Ahh (laugh). Negishi has these moment of being S (laugh).
Yamaguchi: Because he’s an unconscious S (laugh).
Ikeoka: At the beginning I was teased by Kamitsuru and Mitsuya with “tareme [drooping eyes]”. When Negishi knew that, he immediately made “tareme” to “ponkichi”.*
--- He’s an S character, right? (laugh)
Mitsuya: He slowly might be penetrating the fans as well. Though right now he’s wrapped within a veil of us D2 members (laugh).
--- So, what about Mitsuya?
Yamaguchi: I think I’ve known him the longest now, at first I thought he’s the class president type, but actually he’s quite a natural airhead (laugh). I’ve gradually gotten to know the good sides of Micchi. I started to think that he’s somehow cute (laugh).
Ikeoka: Plus, he tells quite a lot of masochistic jokes.
Negishi: He often goes along with a joke at the start then points out its ridiculousness (laugh).
Ikeoka: He goes along with it so much as to throw himself away (laugh). It’s amazing. I respect him.
Negishi: I think that Mitsuya has speaking power. But he’s making it too long.
Ikeoka: There it is, unconscious S (laugh).
Negishi: No, Mitsuya is really good at talking, at lives, at the end. I respect him.
--- What about Yamaguchi?
Mitsuya: The first impression of Kenki was “black!” (laugh).
Yamaguchi: Was I that black?
Mitsuya: He was tanned and had short hair. Then, when we talked on the way home, he was really good at listening…
Yamaguchi: Because almost only Micchi was talking (laugh).
Mitsuya: I thought that he’s a big brother who is a good listener.
Negishi: In the end, he’s unifying.
Ikeoka: He doesn’t talk that much, but he’s showing with his back.
Mitsuya: And then he’s good at singing, to say the least. My own blood gets excited, and I get goosebumps. I chose Kenki for the survey of who we would choose as a boyfriend (laugh).
Yamaguchi: Sorry, I didn’t choose Micchi (laugh).
Mitsuya: Really~ (laugh). But he’s really a person I like a lot.
Ikeoka: His kindness seeps out from his whole body. He’s a person where you calm down when you meet him. I think I want to follow him forever.
Negishi: And you can talk with him about anything…
Yamaguchi: I’m happy but this is really embarrassing (laugh).
