Okay, here's the report about America.

The stage is one room, very messy, with a little kitchen, table with 2 chairs, kotatsu, futon, some furniture, trash on the floor. Like a normal student's room xD There's also a window and a toilet (<- both used a lot throughout the play).
There are some scenes I will call "past" now. And some scenes in the "present". They switch a lot back and forth but I can't remember that all. Just trying to describe the atmosphere.

Past starts with Tomo, Kaji, Zukkii, Uematsu and Kurota in the room. Tomo is mostly lying on the futon. Uematsu is sitting under the kotatsu, with his back to the audience. Kaji and Zukkii are standing/walking/sitting. Kurota is sometimes in his "room", sometimes sitting on the chair.
Tomo, Kaji, Zukkii and Uematsu are a theater group, also doing baito; Kurota is doing some other work. They've been living there together for 4-5 years already.
They are talking about the new script and that Tomo should make a title for it or so. Tomo and Kaji are fighting sometimes... or well, all of them kind of.
Then a strange woman and a girl come (standing outside of the window) and....they want something, but not sure what. Something philosophy thing? The woman is talking hysterically, the girl only stands beside her, holding an apple. The guys kind of make fun of them. The woman and girl appear several times in the play and the guys try to ignore them (like not opening the window or such).
The guys use the toilet quite often and...long (why??), no idea if that has a deeper meaning. Sometimes they go out to buy some drinks or food.
Zukkii says that he wants to quit the theater group to find a real job and later he succeeds in this. Kaji is angry at him and calls him traitor in one scene.
Tomo says that he wants to make a trip to America after the next play of their group (or so?). So Kaji tells him, it's dangerous here and there (=everywhere). At one point they are fighting and throwing their cigarette packets at each other (Kaji, Tomo, Araki smoke a lot in the play) and tell Uematsu to pick them up for them. Later Tomo throws tissue paper at Kaji. After that Kaji wants to throw toilet paper at him, but Tomo tells him he shouldn't use that. They eventually stop fighting.

The present. Araki is Tomo's older brother but they didn't see each other for maybe 10 years and weren't very close. Tomo died in America (or somewhere???? I have no idea -_-). Araki is there because someone who might want to move in wants to look at the apartment. He also brought Yamada because he didn't want to come alone. (But actually no idea why he had to be there.....) Kurota moved out of it already.
Araki is talking with the other guys, gets a call from work (I think) and it just moves on. At some point the "guy from next door" comes (Maybe he came in the past as well? Not sure because it always switched >_<). He says that he has no window in his room and that he wants to live in that one. The woman and girl appear too, I think they want the "guy from next door" because he ran away from them.
Araki gets a call from the one who wants to take a look at the apartment, he apparently doesn't find the way so they go to pick him up. All those inside the apartment go out and in a lot.
Later the were all back inside and the new guy doesn't like that everything's so messy, they shall clean up in 10 minutes and goes outside again. But the guys, instead of cleaning, they go and buy trash bags and food.
Since the new one doesn't like the mess, he says that he'll leave and call again when he is interested. In the end there are Zukkii, Kaji, Araki and Uematsu and they eat bento. Araki sits on the futon where his brother used to sit and puts a lot of shichimitougarashi [blend of seven spices (cayenne, sesame, Japanese pepper, citrus peel, etc.) <- my friend told me] on his food. The others are reminded of Tomo at that point.

The last scene is with Araki and Tomo. Tomo is eating a bento, putting the same spices on it, sitting on his futon. Araki is standing in the room. Tomo finishes eating, packs his bag and leaves the room (to America). Araki is throwing gum at him to see if Tomo reacts, but Tomo is just doing whatever as if nothing had happened. After Tomo left the room, Araki starts crying. The scene and stage play ends.

My comment: The Japanese wasn't that difficult.... but the meaning was. I really don't understand why some things happened. Or for what some other things stand.
I think, everyone's acting was good. Tomo was really cute <3 And it all felt very home-ish, because Chrissi's and my apartment is messy as well and we sit/lie on our futons a lot XD

The smoking part is shocking to me, but if the idea is to portray a bunch of directionless guys, I suppose it is appropriate. It sounds like a very intense, introspective and ultimately sad play, different than the usual D-BOYS fare. Thanks for your report!

I knew about the smoking before.
But yes, it was said everywhere that it's different to their usual plays and I can just agree. Not that I've seen a lot already.......^^;

It seems really nobody understands that play, not even japanese fans. ^.^°°°

One girl, I knew from following her D-Stage reviews since years, even said that she was very disappointed, because they overdid it. She found it boring, contextless and overacted. But maybe, she said, that was just her impression and that she is just to old (just a little over 30, though) ...

Why does it reminds me on Pnish plays, where the audience leaves the theatres, wondering what the hell just happened? XDDDD
