"This year I want to do my whole work perfectly."
Yanagishita Tomo portrays Okita Souji in the drama "Shinsengumi PEACEMAKER".
We interview Yanagishita Tomo, a young actor you should expect to see more of in 2010. He talks about his memories of dramas and stage plays and how he finds stress-relief in karaoke.
Okita Souji in "Shinsengumi Peacemaker" is a well-known historical figure. Many actors have portrayed him, so I was initially nervous: "Can I do this?" Furthermore, in the original comic for this drama, Okita Souji is drawn like a girl. That's why it is difficult to do it this way. But when I met the director and talked with him, I was told that story-like they have the original work as basis, but the drama shall make its best use of the realistic acting. When I heard that, I felt relieved. In this case I want to lose the original work in myself once and then I will act according to the script, I think. Though it might lead to fans of the original work telling me "This is not Okita Souji of PEACEMAKER". However, I think that this time it's good if I produce the Okita Souji in this drama as myself.
Since the shooting started my private time got very little, but I'm still the same person who doesn't go out very much. Because I usually stay at home and watch recorded comedy shows or dramas on my days off. I just go out for shopping and karaoke. However, I already have plans to go to karaoke with a sempai who is good at singing.
When I went to karaoke with this person for the first time, I was surprised that karaoke is so much fun! I already liked singing before, but since I learned some tricks and how to harmonize from this person, it will be even more fun. (laugh) In addition, we like the same songs. Sometimes I will go to karaoke together with 4 good friends, but [because of liking the same songs] we two will eagerly sing EXILE, Tohoshinki, Chemistry and such, and we will drink (sake/alcohol) all the time. (laugh) Yet I will feel really refreshed. The next day I will be able to work with full energy again.
I usually hang out with just guys. (laugh) A girl wouldn't be able to get in there at all. Though if we would go out together, a girl who is quiet, has a sense for pureness and a cute smile would be good. That is my type of a girl. Nevertheless, in reality, if I liked someone, my ideal type wouldn't be related with it. To be together is fun and that is enough!!
However, right now my work is important. Recently I realized that I truly like acting. Especially, after 3 years passed since I started with acting, this year will be a time of endurance, I think. Maybe it will be a significant year for my next rapid progress making. Therefore I want to do my whole work perfectly, whatever small thing it might be. Because I believe, that this way of doing will surely be connected from now on*, so I will do my best with full energy.
*I'm sorry, I don't really get what he means there....

Ja dann, keep it up! Vielleicht können wir ja auch mal zusammen an etwas arbeiten. Ich glaube, dass ihr doch anders lernt, als wir in Düsseldorf. Bei und sind dir Übersetzungen doch recht frei und wir gucken auch ab und an mal nach rein stilistischen Verbesserungen, die trotzdem noch den Sinn erhalten. Ich finde es aber auch nicht schlecht, wenn man wörtlich übersetzt. Wäre mir persönlich vielleicht auch lieber, ich tu mich immer so schwer mit guten Formulierungen. ^^

Date: 2010-02-16 01:01 pm (UTC)Seto ist auch auch eher so ein Stubenhocker. Arayan meinte in dem Oricon Interview auch, dass er dank NatsuDoko mal ein bisschen mehr rausgeht, statt immer nur in der Bude zu hocken. War vorher wohl scheinbar auch eher so ein Einzelgänger XDDD
Ich finde auch, dass das so normal klingt XD Ist man von so Party-Akanishis gar nicht gewohnt. Den findste wohl eher im Club, als daheim XD
(ich geh auch ganz selten raus und könnt den ganzen Tag lang Dramas gucken XD aber ich komm auch vom Dorf, da muss man immer erst so weit fahren, bis man mal irgendwo was machen kann).
